We've evolved this definition to embrace two emerging realities:

Humans are on the path to becoming a multi-planetary species, extending beyond Earth's boundaries.

Humans are at the threshold of creating Artificial General Intelligence, followed potentially by Artificial Super Intelligence.

Therefore, we define sustainability simply as the possibility that all life and intelligence will flourish across planets, forever.

Artificial Intelligence

The manner in which we develop and integrate AI into society will be the most influential factor determining our fate as a species. All other sustainability concerns become secondary when the true existential scale of AI development is considered.

With careful AI acceleration, resource scarcity diminishes and traditional sustainability challenges become solvable.
With improper AI development, all other sustainability efforts may become irrelevant due to it's existential risk.
